1964 GMC 1500 V6 Family Truck
1 Attachment(s)
Hello!! I'm new to the group and wanted to introduce myself and ask a question. I've included a picture of my all-original 1964 GMC 1500 Pick Up with the 305E V6 engine. It's been in my family since new and has 56,000 original miles. My great Uncle Eugene purchased it new for his business in Northern Wisconsin. My uncle purchased it from him and some day I'll pass it down to my daughter.
Question: I was attempting to remove the crankcase breather unit from the block to clean out the valve and replace the paper filter. Unfortunately, the canister broke off from the breather tube. I replaced the canister with a universal oil breather filter and that seems to be working fine. In an effort to keep it all original, does anyone have a spare, original crankcase breather assembly (complete with tube/valve pulled from the block) they would sell me? Thanks for welcoming me into the group! Absolutely LOVE this truck, it's history and the performance of the 305 V6 4 speed! |

Great truck!
It looks just like my red '60 except for spare location, bigger glove box (at the expense of climate controls) and single master cylinder. Other differences? |

Really nice original truck! Love the faded red. I really like the small touches someone added back in the day, such as the straps to shut the doors and the chrome grille. Interior looks mint including the bench seat! How many miles are on the truck?

My great uncle Eugene Winkler had a Christmas Tree Farm and Campground in Hiles, WI on Pine Lake (still there today). Every December, he would harvest his trees, pile them high in the stake side bed and drive them down to a lot in downtown Milwaukee to sell them.

I don't know about a "deluxe heater," but I have heat, air, defrost and fan.
I also forgot to mention the rusty mess in the fender bottom just in front of the left door. It looks like your right side is a little better. but mine is the same. |
