Apples & Oranges

I drove my truck to work today and when I came out this evening to leave, I noticed the Chevy sitting next to me, so I couldn't resist snapping a picture. I'm assuming they drag the Chevy, as it has big slicks.

Last night when I was driving home in my JEEP, it was squealing pretty loud. After I got home I did a little snooping under the hood and notice the outer ring of the harmonic balancer was about to fall off, and I noticed the belt was running at an angle. I was really surprised I made it home. So I drove the GMC today, picked up a new front seal and harmonic balancer and installed it tonight. So my JEEP is back on the road, just in time for next cold front. When I took the belt off the outer ring practically fell off. I'm going wheeling in a few weeks; glad this happend when it did.

How in the world do you get a windshield like that when the top is chopped? I'm assuming it's custom made for that truck. That's a wrap around too!

It would be Custom, Nice pic of those two trucks. Did you just take the one of others?

You must have the 4.0 engine. I had a similar problem with the 4.0 in my Jeep, one weekend when rock crawling I heard a little bit of squealing and it turned out the balancer was walking front to back and cutting into the timing cover but that all stopped at highway speeds, never the less I changed the balancer a few days later.

Yes, that was the only picture I took. I think they may work 2nd shift, because I didn't see it in the morning or at lunch.

Mine's been running good, even in this cold weather. In fact, it the colder it is, the easier it starts.

It was 5 degrees this morning. The guys at work asked me today if my truck runs in this cold weather? I responded, "no, I just push it to work when it's this cold."

Yes, I have the 4.0 engine. 255,000 miles and counting. (knock on wood)

I forgot to mention I got to use my 4 ft long pipe wrench last night. That's what I used to hold the center, so I could break the bolt loose. Surprisingly, I have used that beast several times.

Thanks Doug!

Although, it would be fun to hammer down in the orange one a couple of times. :ahhhh:

When I was driving home tonight in the freezing rain and snow I noticed an '80s model ford bronco driving back and forth beside me... Turns out, she was video taping me. Well, not me, but the truck.

I noticed the bronco passing me at a good pace, then she slowed quickly, fell back and passed me again at a much slower pace, all while the driver was video taping. This was during rush hour with poor road conditions.

The weather is not going to improve over the weekend, so my plan is to complete the install/wiring of my new gauges. So far the bat-o-meter is working good. Last weekend I completed a prelim install of the tach and it worked, but I haven't checked it against my timing light tach yet. I'll update the other thread when it's complete.

Try to stay warm,

David

Well, I'm throwing bananas in the fruit basket... :)

When I was leaving work tonight, saw this GMC... It was parked near the same location where the orange Chevy was (that I posted earlier).
