Motor mounts

1 Attachment(s)
I thought I had seen some info in the past about motor mounts, but can't seem to find any info. I'm in need of some rebuilt or new mounts both of mine are shot, I was able to scrounge up one decent one but would prefer a new set.

I read somewhere that there is a place that can rebuild motor mounts, is this true and where can I find this place?! I have finally gathered everything I need to put a rebuilt 351 into my truck and get rid of this blasted chevy motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attachment 2802

Re: Motor mounts

Good to hear that you're tossing out that ubiquitous small block Chivy!!! For the motor mounts you need to go to Steele Rubber Products, send them your old mounts and they will make new ones out of them.

Yes, the confounded small block is the last unoriginal part left. I searched Steele rubber and they popped right up, $100 for the pair. Par for the course I guess, nothing has been less than $100 on this old beast. Once she's done, she'll outlive me.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Great site, great enthusiasts, and great advice.

Here is what I used. Goth them at O'Reilly.

You know motor mounts from a mid '70's Dodge truck with a big block will work in a pinch. That's what I used on my '66 GMC with a '12 flat bed. Ross:pullinghairout:

Re: Motor mounts

Quite a few years back one of the members of the site used motor mounts from a 67 Chrysler station wagon with the 383 engine. Maybe these are similar to the mid 70's Dodge Trucks with a 440 V8. There were some photos or illustrations of the 383 mounts and it looked like a better setup than what GMC did.

Bryan:
Part number that I have for mounts is Anchor 2337 for the front mounts and Anchor 2107 for the bell housing mounts. I used the 2107 when I put my new motor in. I got the 2337 number from someone else, so I haven't verified that one. These mounts should be available locally at an O'Reilly, Autozone, etc.

Hope that helps.

Still can't access site from home (virus or connection problem on my end) but the 2337 should work. It does use a metric nut on the end.
