Introducing my new-to-me 351 V6 powered 66 GMC 1500

Here's the link to the photo album of my new-to-me 1500 series 66 GMC. Special ordered from the Oakland plant with a full size slide-in camper on it, but eventually it leaked and the original owner removed it. All bed wood was remarkably well preserved. He ordered it with the Custom Comfort and Appearance packages, side trim and chrome bumpers, deluxe heat, hazard flasher, radio, fog lamps and spotlight and best of all, factory power steering and the 351 V6 / 4 speed combination. The original owner was a meticulous man, and he kept records of every oil change, tire swap, wiper blade, and every other aspect of his truck - always mechanically tip-top and never allowed to not start, or something quit working without immediate repair. Jon Buell bought it from him several years back and used it to pull his 2019 22" camper in and out of state on long trips and no truck was more dependable. Jon decided he no longer used it so now I have it, and I can tell you it runs as strong and pulls as well as my rebuilt 327 in my 66 C10 Chevy. Super strong puller and hill climber which we need around here at the tail end of the Appalachian Mountain range - very steep hills around these parts and this truck climbs and keeps gaining all the way to the top! Surprising to me she runs about 60 MPH with no strain and will go 70+ if pressed but I run her around 55-60 most days. Jon installed AC from another 351 equipped 66, and charged it with R12 and it blows nice and cold. Jon smartly also installed a vintage 1960's Kelsey-hayes trailer brake, Class 5 hitch and associated wiring. Pulls a trailer crazy good. I had found a time-capsule "Highway Cruisers" camper shell (the brand GMC promoted in 66 and the brand shown in the Silver Book) removed from its 1966 GMC in 1975 and preserved in mint shape in the rafters of a dry barn until I found it in 2018. I installed the topper along with NOS Re-Trac mirrors and a Smash-hit grille guard and now she's looking even sharper :) I drive this truck at least 5-10 miles every single day and it doesn't leak, smoke, or do anything but operate flawlessly.
