Re: 292 decoding
Can you provide a casting number? Also there should be a Conveyor belt number and a time stamp on the passenger side rear of the block.

Re: 292 decoding
I am starting to think 73, I am finding early 292 had 7/16 fly wheel bolts, later models 1/2. also the stam by the dist. has leter suffix IRG, early models had two letter suffix, I think RG is manual trans, have not figured out what the I is
Some of the stovebolt groupmight know. I will be going to the Truck Nationals. In kansas city. The stovebolters are having a reunion, and have asked me to bring a running V12. Thanks for your help. |
Re: 292 decoding
Anytime Bob, Not sure if I helped to much but that is what I could find with the help of the info from Inliners.org. Been a member there for a couple years now. Great guys who helped me build up my 292 for some good power.

Re: 292 decoding
I just checked the head casting number3799019 looks like it was 63-66, maybe the block is 63.

Re: 292 decoding
Judging by the E31 3 I would say 63 then.
