I have several vehicles with historic plates and have not been bothered by the law.
In fact, they will almost always wave back or a thumbs up.
Here is some more info about historic plate in Pa.

I learned that method in high school physics class and used it on my truck. I think the overall result was within 500 lb (10%) when checked at the local grain elevator.

The trick is guessing the % of tire in contact with the pavement due to tread gaps. So I would only use it as an estimate.

Was this supposed to be posted on April 1st?

It is basic physics and math. It will not be any more accurate than your estimation of the % of tire tread in contact with the ground though.

This is very similar to the physics used to calculate loads on airplane wings during flight.

I worried about my doubts on mileage because my 1960 1500 has a 6 digit (million mile) odometer and is unlikely ever to "go around."
The five plus 1/10ths do and may have here.

That's one heck of a truck right there. Hope it has power steering and brakes. lol Might consider an old 3 or 4 speed gear splitter......you'll have a twin stick and extra gears to help accelerate better.
