I'm not asking for any more money for the site. And I cant spend any more as I have to give there every last dime I have or will have for some time.

I am saddened by this news Jolly. I wish there was more I could do. If we could have known in advance, I would have offered to store your vehicles and stuff here for you, to give you time to figure out what -you- wanted to do so you didn't lose everything.

I saw your posting on the for sale items, I only wish I had the money for the literature... you had one heck of a collection as I recall.

*If* there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

I'm no expert on websites or the internet but to bring everyone up to date on developments as I've investigated them, the 6066GMCGuy.org domain name was snapped up yesterday by Domain Admin, PrivacyProtect.org out of Nobby Beach, Queensland, AU. That would be the bad news.

The good news is there are two other sites that appear to be owned by another person that link to a complete functioning copy of the 6066gmcguy.org website from December 2011. According to Jolly, this site is owned by "the same person that is running the Forum" which would be Jeanie I assume? You can access the information by going to http://6066gmcguy.com and clicking "Go to the information site" or go directly to the site at http://6066gmcclub.com/gmcguy/index.php.

I had plans to reprise the entire website, crediting Jolly as founder and creator and then making a long term project out of cleaning up broken links, fixing other errors and maybe improve navigation. I can still undertake this project using my own domain name, but my primary concern, as I'm sure it is with everyone else, is to preserve the wealth of information we have and continue to add to it going forward.

Should anyone have comments or suggestions on how to proceed from this point forward, please share them on this thread or private message me. I'd love to hear from Jeanie on her role in preserving and promulgating the website resources. A lot of links will need to be updated with other sites from OldGMCTrucks to Stovebolt just to name two.

Jolly and I have been talking in PMs. With his blessing we will have the information site available at http://6066gmcclub.com/gmcguy/ for members in need. A copy of the latest sitecode is going out next week via US Mail. I will update the link when the CD arrives.

This information will always be available from this point forward. Like the forum this collection is a very important part of history that deserves preservation.

We are all deeply saddened to hear of Jolly's situation. We can only hope that in time his relatives come to understand the joy he receives from his GMCs and allow his swift return to the craft.

This is not a joke, I not sitting here with any kind of a grin on my face. for me its just one short step away from the "D" word. If I have to give up anything else, I'm out of here.
I know sometimes we say thing out of frustration, helplessness and pain. Right now you are "in the valley" but you will get through it and rise again Jolly. You had a vision and passion that became the 6066 GMC site; not many have the perseverance to see their ideas all the way through.

I hope you have someone you can truly vent to about this situation and process it out. You WILL get past this crisis. Henry

I'll be burning CD tomorrow and send them out Monday I hope. I'll be burning a copy of every thing I have on my Computer that is GMC Related so if for some reason something happens to my computer I'll still have hard copies.

I'll be making a list and every one that sent in Donations this year will get a copy of the site on CD. That should make sure the info is around for some time.

Thanks for your support over the years. I'll be here hiding in the background, quitlly waiting for my chance to spring back into action.

CDs are burning as I type this message, they will be sent out in the next day or two.

I counted 27 folks that helped by Supporting the site, each one will recive a CD hard copy of the site as it was on the day it passed away.

they will also recive the GMC Toro-Flow Testimonials on the same CD and some photos from past events held by member of the club, that filled the CD so there wount be a lot of empy space on it.

I know there maybe some other members that did not send in a donation this year, if you want a copy its no a problem, you can send $25 to my PayPal and I'll send you a CD.

send payment to my e-mail address 6066gmcguy@frontiernet.net besure to include what its inthe note section, for as I have stuff I'm selling on ebay under this e-mail too.

as a side note you mite get a letter with the return address of Jolly's Escort Service or 6066 GMC Trucks, that will be the CD, I'm just trying to save some moeny by using old return lables, and well I don't have printer so I may ever just rubber stamt some too.

The CDs were sent out inthe morning mail, if you sent in a donation of $20 or more this year, 2013, you'll get a copy of it.

CD contains, copy of the website as it was on the last day it was online, but also in those files are other pages i was working on but never posted., and some older pages were saved in the files as well. There are photos from GMC Truck Club Events, and copies of the GMC Toro-Flow Testimonials and Photos, there are 100 of those.

I get a bill every 5 years to pay for my website. Did this laspe? I assume if I didn't pay, mine could get gobbled up.

Maybe whoever has it will give it back if the subscription is paid. Unless they have a use for it, most companies are just looking to lease them out.

Always get the .com and .org for a website lest, you end up with
something as different as whitehouse.gov vs whitehouse.com. You would
have thought the government would have known that.:ahhhh:

Good luck Jolly
