305E crankcase ventilation(back of engine) and PCV vslves
I am stuck and not sure what to do. The guy that rebuilt my 305E must have messed up the crankcase ventilation breather trying to take it out bc he claims it didn't have anything there so guess there was just a hole in back of engine. The housing is impossible to find unless I buy a used 305 just for that one part, i am curious if there is anyway I can go another route somehow if anybody has done this please send info this way. I have read all the threads I have found and seems like if I try and start brand new rebuilt motor it will run like crap and the seals and gaskets will start leaking. This is only thing preventing me from being done please help. Thanks p

Re: 305E crankcase ventilation(back of engine) and PCV vslves
What you can do is convert it to the type of ventilation system used on 68-74 V6 engines. In 68 that rear breather was eliminated and just capped of with a freeze plug, a valve cover breather was used in it's place on the passenger side cover with a ventilation hose that runs to the air cleaner.
