Speedo Cable Length?

Does anyone know what the OEM length for the Speedo cable for a '60 GMC with hydramatic?

Thank
Jake

I think it's the 100" one, but fairly easy to measure/estimate. There are only a few options so you don't have to be exact. A piece of small hose will act as a "template"/measuring device. Fuel hose, air hose, etc....... Will simulate the radii the best.

rockauto has listings for '62 (last yr for s/r hydramatic) at 83", Jake. Whichever length you get, remember to lube the new cable-not enough or none on new cable.:happy::happy:

Re: Speedo Cable Length?

That's a tricky one. Could be the cable or....... the speedo or trans gears are broken. I guess you will have to take cable off and test it by hand first, then a slow drill to see if it's that. Probably not the cable if it was lubed as Lewis says. Hopefully is was installed/routed with liberal radii/bends. If you are lucky, it's just the coupler nuts are loose. (speedo or trans end)
