Alternator Bracket

I'm looking to convert my 1962 K1000 from generator to alternator. It has a 305D V6 in it. Searched several of the larger parts houses and came up empty. JEGS recommended that I call Smith Electric Company in Greely CO. They have a universal type bracket (A200). Has anyone used this bracket on a 305 V6? Does anyone have other sources for an alternator bracket?

I used that type of bracket to make that conversion. It’s adjustable too and pretty sure I got it from a tractor supply company.

I sourced the top upper alternator adjusting bracket from a GMC V6 factory alternator application because the Generator version did not work for me.

I think the lower alternator bracket is integral to the engine plates mounted to the side of the engine for a factory alternator application. so that’s another route you may pursue but more work.

Here are some photos and the belt I ended up using.

Very easy to fab something up if you have a few tools.
Similar to this.

I used that type to put an alternator on a Chevy 235. Worked well.
