Photo of correct grill letters attached. It took me a while to find them (and a while more to spend $$ on them). At least you have a GMC hood, I was not so fortunate.

Then it's most likely not correct! Figure 60-66 1000 series Dana 44 and 60-66 1500 series Dana 60:ok:

DAC

That's what I've got, so a Dana 60.

For the oïl in this thing, Something like 75w90 GL4/5?

From the research I've done, if it is a Dana 60 there will be a number 60 on the back side lower right web below the right axle tube. here is the picture of my rear axle.

75W-90 or 85W-90 will be fine.

Took a gander under my 64. It's a Spicer or Dana 60 or dern close to it. I think in 60-61 they used the Eaton and in 62 they went Spicer/Dana. I need to get my 64 manual ordered.

My '62 1500 has a Dana 60. Several years ago I pulled the 4.56 open carrier out and put in a PowerLoc 4.10.

I'll disagree:pullinghairout: with you on the Eaton axles being used on 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks. I just talked to Jake Groby who has a 1960 GMC that he restored that came stock with a Dana 60. You have to remember Canadian model GMC trucks were basically rebadged Chevrolet trucks and all the running gear was identical to Chevrolet trucks, while US versions mechanically were different as night and day. Your reprint manually is most likey derived from the Canadian version.:ahhhh:

Those nice center caps I've got, is it standard in US? Any good reference on Amazon?
