Custom Cab Trim

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but since it goes on the body I thought what the heck.

What exactly makes a "custom cab" for 1962? Is it just the windshield chrome, door chrome, chrome bumper, and the little badge on the door that says Custom?

And would it be sacrilegious to put it on a 1962 4x4, which didn't come in a custom trim from what I can tell?

It's your truck..... do whatever pleases you. Some of the Custom model paints schemes were nice, too. You need to consider a chrome grille and chromed hood V6 badges as well. Hubcaps would have been chromes, too.

Hey Fetch, I pulled this from an Ebay listing the other day. It is a 1960 GMC with the full Custom Package. I do not know if they did away with the Custom Package, but it was available in 1960. What ever you do, I know you will not destroy the trim like what happened to my truck. Fetch, I had UPS destroy my first set of donor trim,40 miles from my home, after coming cross country. Three years later, I miraculously find yet another donor truck. I had to cobble two pieces together to get one bed side piece. Worst nightmare of the entire process. Chevy made spare parts, GMC did not make spare trim pieces. So we have to find donors. Please advance this point so that more folks will be inclined to save and not destroy these rare, non-reproduced GMC specific trim pieces. I hope to spare someone from my multi-year nightmare.
