Howdy from NC

Hi guys & gals,

I found this site from a comment on the bolt site, so hey!

I'm just getting started and I was looking for manuals. On the bolt site I saw some Chevy manuals but I have to be different of course. My 1960 GMC V4000 will need brakes and before I go ordering parts it would be nice to get some parts catalogs etc. The guy I bought it from said it needs a fuel pump, he must have tinkered a bit with it before I got it. He has 3 or 4 other projects so he let this one go. That and getting some brakes working would be a good place to start. Looking forward to learning a lot here. Hope to meet some of you eventually. I'll be looking for old trucks at the threshers reunion in Denton, NC this year. There's more than old tractors there.

I think you've been hoodwinked..... that's not a truck, it's a tank LOL

You might already have this info, but just in case you don't, I thought the following would help:

http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/1...nt-P29187.aspx

I bought the manual for my 1500 from them and was quite happy with what I got. Some of the pictures are a bit hard to follow because of the colour quality..... but it's just meant that I have an excuse to stare a bit more at the truck in order to work out what it is I'm looking at LOL

If you don't mind me asking, what part of NC are you in? I grew up in Franklin (about two/three hours north of Atlanta), so I can't help but be curious.

I'm in Winston Salem for my job but have bought land more to the east and will eventually retire to there. She's a big old girl alright but I think will be a good project. I read about your project, I will keep that in mind when I feel I want to complain about how hard it is to get parts ;-)
