Upgrading the 351 to a Holley 500

The HEI conversion was done last year, so I figured it's time for the Holley conversion this year.

I scanned though the forum and Jolly's conversion how-to last night. The only question I have (or just want to double check on before ordering) is about the carburetor.

Would this be the correct Holley 500?

And if so, will it be sufficient to feed the 351 in a 2.5ton truck?

Hello 5Tractorguy;
are you one in the same guy from YouTube?

Great videos and content as well as being funny too.

Anyway the 500 Holley I bought was a used one from eBay and it was a 500cfm version and not the 350cfm model. It needed a rebuilding and I re-jetted also, but I have a 305. I'm sure you'll be happy with it on that 351.

One in the same, that be me... Thanks!

I've seen other conversions with larger cfm Edelbrocks, but figured the Holley will be the easiest swap. How easy are they to change the jets on? Fairly simple to access? Really hoping it'll wake that 351 up. Stromberg WW just ain't cutting it anymore.

It's been a while but yes it was fairly straightforward. They are located in that front fuel bowl and here is a link that has some tips on Holley's

What are you using for the adapter plate?
