Starting the final restoration

Hello Members,
It's time to start making some changes to my '64 1000 wideside SWB. At the same time, the 230 I-6 that I rebuilt 16 years ago to a 250 with only about 3000 miles on the engine and the SM420 Muncie, also rebuilt will be coming out.
I found a 350 with an automatic 700R4 transmission, Edelbrock top manifold/Carb and headers including the tranny cross-member and engine stands for about $1000. I have decided to swap out due to some neuropathy problems in my feet, feeling the clutch is somewhat difficult.

With these changes, I am looking for some help;
I originally bought a brand new "Ididit" tilt steering column for the manual transmission, (this will be up for sale)...now I need one for the automatic.
I have heard that other GMC tilt steering columns from other model trucks will work too. Does anyone have suggestions on which models work the best? And what size steering wheel, but not terribly small?

I will also be looking for the "small hump" in place of the tall hump for the transmission. My mechanic says these unbolt from the floorboard. Are these available after-market or does anyone have one for sale?

As I posted in the "Interiors" thread earlier, I have also found a '92 solid bench seat from a Suburban that will fit into the Cab real well, especially with the seat tank out also. New tank from Tanks Inc. going where the spare was. Need to figure out a location for the side fill, if to add a door on the back fender or inside the wall of the bed, through the wood.

This is a start for my questions/comments, thanks for now!!
Tom
