Fuse Box

Hi everybody

think I need some help with my fuse box. I completely rewired the harrness with new cables, contacts and terminals. I also used original connectors and terminals My goal was to have an original wiring harness.
I also restored the fuse box and tinned the original contacts new. Now my problem: please can you tell me what is the differnece betwen STOP and BRAKE LP.?
I used the diagram from 1965 of my documentation and there is no fuse contact or wire for BRAKE LP.

Another qeustion: what means B.U. LPS.?

Maybe it's helpful for others: I bought new fuse contacts online on http://www.delmarwire.com/home/fuse-block-terminals/
They are still available in the version for two cables.

The labeling on the photo is done digital for my documentation. Hope it's correct.

Many greetings Tom

Back up lamps - your truck may not ever had them but are a nice accessory which can be added now since you are doing new wiring. Switch location depends on what transmission your truck is equipped with.

Re: Fuse Box

Hello Tom,

The stop-dome and brake LP are the same circuit. Two wires from the same fuse. One wire supplies voltage to dome light, the other wire supplies voltage to stop light switch. This is shown on the diagram. Diagram not easy to read/follow. Some labels on fuse box are confusing. Electrical wiring and fusing had not yet reached maturity.

As lizzie says, B.U. is Back Up/reverse lamp in rear. To illuminate while backing. If equipped. Otherwise not wired.

Re: Fuse Box

Thank you very much Lizzie and AZKen. Seems that I wired correct :)
Until my GMC project I have no idea about wiring and power but I learned a lot and it was fun. Some brainwork. And thanks to 6066gmc site for a lot of information.
At the moment the things I have tested are ok. Headlights, ignition, wiper, heater.

One question about the fuse. The panel and lights have a 3A fuse. Is it ok to use a 3.15A?

Many greetings

Tom
