Clutch and brake rods
This is hopefully an easy question to go along with an earlier post about clutch replacement. (See transmission thread.)
I'm afraid I mixed up the clutch and brake pedal to master cylinder rods a year or so ago. Does anyone know for sure which is the longer one and which is the shorter? I'm going to pull the tranny tomorrow and hopefully find what has gradually caused the clutch to not fully release and make driving difficult and sometimes exciting, Thanks |
Re: Clutch and brake rods
If I recall correctly, both rods are the same.

........which means if you have a long and a shorter, one is just adjusted differently.

Re: Clutch and brake rods
Still in the process of getting my rebuilt clutch adjusted, but I forgot to thank folks for the input on this question.
The brake and clutch adjustment rods are indeed the same length, but the one marked with a "C" is less robust than the other, with 3/8" vs. 7/16" threads respectively. For some reason the pedal/clutch adjustment rod will not fully depress the master cylinder piston before running out of threads.. |
