Lights

Does anyone know if the park/tail lights on my 1963 GMC 4000 series truck are fused? They worked last fall but don't work now. The fuse panel is labeled but I didn't see a fuse for the lights. The head lights still work on both high and low beam but the park lights or tail lights won't come on anymore.

I am far from an electrical expert, but yes they will have a fuse. Check each fuse carefully in the fuse box. Just wondering if your Dash Lights work? Many times that will be a tell-tale sign that your tail lights are also not working. If necessary, check each terminal for power in the fuse box with an electrical tester.

I'm not sure if the dash lights ever worked or not, they don't now. I will check the fuses with a test light. It just seemed odd that I had park lights and tail lights and all of a sudden they both don't work anymore. I have it registered as an antique but I haven't driven it on the road yet. I only use it to plow snow with. It has a 351C V-6 and a 4 yard dump body. It's a real beast. I have about a ton or so of weight in the back and with tire chains on, it doesn't even know that it's pushing a 9.5 foot wide snowplow.

Re: Lights

My schematic for a '66 shows that they are powered via the light switch. The light switch is fused at the fuse box/panel. Don't see any other fuses for park or taillights in the schematic.

Do the headlights work?

Don't know if is the same for your year.

Hi
I had the same issue once, head lights worked fine but no tail at all.I found a plug above the gas pedal on the firewall that was undone. Not sure if the big trucks are the same as my 65 1/2 ton
