Pics wanted: under dash and firewall

Looking for pics on both sides of the firewall and under the dash (a pic of your dash too for a reference). Starting to run electrical and controls, trying to route everything as close to factory as possible. I have what I assume are nonstandard features as I cannot find them in any manuals. Not sure if they are factory or previous owner. I.e. emergency flashers, oil pressure gauge, amperes meter, wiper switch does not match manual.

Currently having a **** of a time figuring out the accelerator linkage. The pedal is to the floor and the adjustment rod is hitting the valve cover. Also can’t figure what passes through the penetration just below the master cylinder.

Thanks.
T.J.

It look like the lever on the firewall is too short. Mine look higher, see attachments.

Comparing mine to your it seem the engine is also further away from the firewall.

If the pedal is on the floor and the carburetor at idle, the lever will also need to be reindex on the shaft by 90°.

Hey there TJ.
I'm not close to my 63 right now but I'm thinkin that mystery hole under yer master cyl is for the oil pressure line to the gauge. (Wet gauge)

TRybas, your 61 would have had the Holley One-Barrel, so I see you updated it and that stock linkage won't work as you've discovered.

I did the same Holley upgrade on my 61and had to modify the lever and/or Rod that engages the carb. I don't recall how I did it or have photos but, I may have used some threaded rod to extend it.

You might just get the throttle components from a later year truck and that should put you in the right geometry or...
do the Throttle Cable/Pedal upgrade for smoother pedal action.

Trybas, I had the same issue with mine when I put a 2 bbl Holley, I had to make a very simple dog leg rod out of flat 1/2 wide aluminum. Send me you number via Pm and I'll give you a call to explain how to do it. It will cost you about $5.00 at home depot

Thanks team. Funky61, I did not realize it wasn’t the original carb. Guess I’ll be on the hunt for one of those now. I ended up putting another bend in the adjustment rod. It’s very close but not perfect. Have to see how it functions once I get her moving. If it still needs work I’ll fabricate a longer lever with a bit of a curve to it.

As far as I know that was the only major difference, the 305D came out mid year in 61 and it has been said many 305A's had been switched over to the 2bbl at the dealers in 61 because of the poor performance of the 1bbl. Net horsepower for the 305A was 125hp versus the 305D at 142hp so that is a 17 hp difference.

Maybe your carb was the upgrade referenced here?
