62 GMC 1000 Panel - which clutch throwout bearing?
1 Attachment(s)
I failed to measure my TO bearing when I had to pull the engine last (replaced front and rear cylinder head freeze plugs, firewall side were disentegrated). Now on looking them up, I see there is a long style and three short versions all from the same manufacturer. I seem to think from recollection that it may be the long style.
Can anyone verify this or simply tell me that all of these listed for my model on Rock Auto could possibly have been used depending on transmission or clutch type? It had an SM318 3ott, then T5, then SM318 when I got it, blew that up and put in a Saginaw 4 speed with existing TO bearing. Now looking to swap an Aisin AX15 5 speed or possibly A833/NP440 MY6 with gm bell pattern. 305D swapping to 351C next time I pull engine to swap in disc brake crossmember. http://6066gmcclub.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1470065815 |
Re: 62 GMC 1000 Panel - which clutch throwout bearing?
Long throwout vs. short is dependent upon the pivot point for the clutch. There are two sizes, a long one and a short one.
I seem to recall if it is the short pivot, then the long throw out. you show two diameters of clutch slave, those I can't advise on. |

Ahhhh... you just reminded me that the pivot ball is worn out as well...
Any idea on a part number or source for those? Standard GM part that is fairly universal? |
