Transplant

Took a few pictures today of my 62 3/4 ton with 401M in place of 305C. Every thing fit nice and the only alterations will be the exhaust and throttle linkage. Its going to seem like a long wait for Spring so I can drive it. :upyes: Dave

If there's any motor that can be called "purty", it would be the V6s and 12s. When I see them, the big thick heads, and all remind me of a brawny shouldered football player with shoulder pads, etc. and ready to kick some butt and "get-er-done". I like to hear them under a load. They get their power from brute strength, instead of sounding like a bumble-bee with hi-rpms.----IMO. I'm sure your ol' motor will give you many years of enjoyment and service. Have fun. |

Re: Transplant
Good work, Dave! We put a 432 in place of a 350 in a Chevy one ton dual wheel short wheel base cab and chassis truck. No problem burning the tires if one wanted to! We had dual exhaust glass packs on it and a four barrel. There is a railroad underpass in Warsaw that when we went under it we would at times hit the throttle and rust chips would come down and the pigeons found things to do elsewhere!
