I'm trying to locate the owner of this GMC Suburban. I know it sold on Ebay several years ago. Is anyone familiar with it? Or is the owner a member here? Would like to contact him/her. Thanks.

Looks like it could be the infamous "Molalla" Suburban to me. Anybody else remember that one, probably at least 10 years ago? That could be an older Oregon plate on it in the photo.

Re: GMC Carryall Owner ID

Well, I surprised myself, and was able to find three old ads for this Suburban that I had printed out.

Here's the first one, dated 12/18/00: "1962 GMC Suburban, 4 wheel drive, 305 V6, all original. It has 113,000 original miles on it. $7,800. Contact me at home (775) 246-5654. Carson City, NV." I called the number and talked to Kurt. He said he had owned it for 6 months. The previous owner had owned it since 1965 on a ranch stored in a barn. I told Jim Jantzen about it since I had bought a similar Suburban from him and knew he was looking for a replacement. He drove up from Phoenix (750 miles) to look at it. I don't remember the details any more, but seem to recall that Jim said it wasn't as represented, and did not buy it. Jim -- care to comment?

Here's the second ad, dated 4/2/01: "1962 GMC Suburban, Rare find! 305 V-6 engine, 4-speed, 4x4, rust-free Nevada vehicle, rare power brake option. If you can find one nicer, buy it! Serious inquiries only. $11,500 503-702-4679, 503-829-9177. Molalla, OR" So, less than 4 months later the next owner wants to sell it already and make about four grand on it.

The third ad reads the same as the second ad, but it's dated 10/4/02 (a year and a half later) and the price is now $8,500.

If I'm not mistaken, I communicated a few times with the guy who ended up buying it, but don't have those emails any more. I think he lived in Canby, OR. I know it's the same one you posted a photo of, Sodly, because the ads I printed out show the same roof rack and same hub caps.

While going through some old photos today, I came across photos of the infamous "Molalla" Suburban that I took back in July of 2003. I had forgotten that I had taken these at a truck show at the Antique Powerland Museum in Brooks, OR. Note the Hydrovac brake booster.

Actually it looks like the same SP plate as in your photos. Further identifying it as the same vehicle.
