Hello Everyone -
Very cool site...!
I recently purchased a 1964 GMC K1502 3/4 ton factory 4WD with the original 305 V6. I sure love the truck... I bought it site unseen... spare a few craigslist pictures... flew from CA to Seattle and drove it home! Not only did this truck make it home, but I stopped in Washougal, WA and picked up a spare 1966 3/4 2wd and rented a trailer and hauled them home 850 miles!

The 4WD has a fair amount of rust... initial plan was to use the red sheetmetal from the 2wd...

Hate to mess up two original trucks... both run great and have the 305 V6.

Kinda toying with the idea of finding a super nice '64 4WD to buy.... I know they are scarce...

Here's a pic stopping for a radiator check near Siskiyou summit in Oregon.

Looks like some good trucks, you can buy most all the sheet metal aftermarket, so you won't have to strip a nice truck down, or just find a nice chevy to get the parts you need, lot more of those around than GMCs, and also most of the bigger truck share a lot of the sheet metal.

Nice shot of the Two GMCs on Siskiyou Summit.

Gets some pics posted of the front end of that 64, it appears like may have the rarer factory grille guard that was actually designed for 62-66 trucks.

Thanks for the welcome!... I know patch panels are available... but my 4WD cab has rust all the way around the windshield! (****!)

I'd really like to keep the orig cab... any ideas from members on fixing the windshield opening??? Likely it can be done - but it's gonna be expensive...

I'll post more pics soon...

Yes... good eye bigblock

It does have the front grill guard which has a bronze-colored metal GMC tag riveted to the guard... pretty cool

My fathers 62 K1000 had the factory grille guard, I do remember it had a tag on it. The dealer installed it back in 1964 but it was the 60-61 style guard evidently there must have been a surplus, it hung over the hood too high. My 68 also has the factory grille guard but no tag just numbers stamped on it.

soooo jealous....these look like fun to me. I want to see a picture of that cool grill guard and the tag if you can get a close up - for my option and accessory picture archives
