Truck Bed Rail Stanchions Needed for reproduction

1 Attachment(s)
Hello, I need access to a 6066 Chevy dealer added accessory bed rail kit stanchion. A current commercial producer of bed rail kits has shown interest in reproducing these hard to find stanchions. They already produce the pipe and bullet ends that are need for the kit. They need a good clean example of the stanchion to reverse engineer. Attached are some pictures of the original stanchions I am seeking. If you have one that you would consider loaning to the manufacturer, please let me know.

Those don't get stuck in the stake holes, so I'd imagine they're just bolt on jobs. I'm sure if they put bolts on them they'll sell. I prefer wood stakes, but others hate that farm truck look. They'd jump all over these I bet.

The issues I have is that you need to drill holes in the top of your bed sides IF you go with the OEM rails. Many marine supply places have several styles of bed rail stations that are 90+ correct to the oem design. Have you taken a look at those?

Re: Truck Bed Rail Stanchions Needed for reproduction

Hey Jake, They had a set of these "correct for 1960-66 Chevrolet" bedrails on my truck. Someone took them off and filled the holes. This service truck had them on it so long the rails were bent to death, so they chunked em. I have had no luck finding a set for years. A guy who is a member of this forum who is a big time collector has one new old stock set and one used set he said he will sell me, but he has not returned any of my attempts to contact him about buying them. So I contacted a bed rail maker in Texas that is willing to repop the stanchions. He just needs access to a single stanchion that has not been warped dinged or cracked. The plating can even be missing. Only the pot metal stanchion is required to reverse engineer the stanchion. There is nothing that comes close to the flowing lines of the original goose neck stanchions. All we need is one lousy stanchion to borrow and be returned. I can not believe no one else has some of them laying in a box of old stuff somewhere. Rare, yes. But not non-existing! Later,GM
