Default 1967 GMC Power Steering Help

Ladies and Gentlemen:
I was fortunate enough to come across a 1967 351e Power Steering bracket that I plan to use on my new motor. The upper bracket has a 90 degree bend on it and the remnants of a weld that looks like someone foogaboo'ed it. Shouldn't this bracket be straight at the end with the 3/8" hole and bolt on the water pump housing where I show it in the second picture?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Regards,
Steve

PS The 351e also donated its spin on oil filter bracket for my new motor. Can you spell S*C *O *R *E?
