What is everyone's preferred oil choice? I understand having high ZDDP(?) content is a must. Also, what part number does everyone use for the canister oil filter? Socket size on that monster plug in the pan? Rear end gasket part number? I tried searching the forum, but it doesn't come easy. I am sure this question has come up a gazillion times. I'll only ask once, I promise! Thanks in advance!
On your 62 1500 (there no "C" in the GMC truck model, that's chevy designation), the Dana 60 gasket can be found from one of these sources:

I use to use on my 305E Oil filter: Wix 51121, it come with a new base gasket. Or what ever the part number will cross over to. Now I had made an adapter plate for a spin on filter (see picture).

Oil pan drain plug is a 1-1/8". Drain plug gasket P/N: AN900-14, See attach document for installation.

Rear axle oil: GL-4 or GL-5. If you have a limited slip then you will also need one of these: https://www.google.com/search?q=dana...client=gws-wiz
