Default Hub Help

Working on the front end (1960 GMC k1002). Not sure what the function of this part is or what it’s called (pic 1. part in my hand). It seems it is supposed to act as a spacer between the bearing and gear. It is missing on the passenger side. The gear seats in the same place with or without the piece. Is it needed? Anyone have a lead on one? Pic 2 & 3 are how the parts would stack in the assembly. Pic 4 is the same parts laying in sequence and pic 5 the full assembly in sequence.
