I just did a brief internet search and found way more positive reviews than negative ones for Pertronix products.
Your other option for going to electronic ignition is the Buick V6 distributor conversion. Just be prepared to spend more money and more time if you go this route. |
I have to agree with Ed on this one. Pertronix offers a high quality product. I installed a Pertronix Electronic Ignition kit on a friend's International Farmall Super H tractor over 4 years ago, and he is quite pleased with it. Very reasonably priced in my opinion, and very easy to install. No special tools or modifications are required. Also, in addition to the fact that your points and condenser may be bad, check your ignition coil too. There is a good possibility (due to its age) that it may be bad as well.
