Default Fuel Gauge Pegs when ignition ON

Hello guys. I took out my dash cluster to install new bulbs and now, when reinstalled, the fuel gauge doesn't work right. It jumps to FULL when the ignition is on.. Nothing when on Acc. Took it out.. checked that the connections were good.. It was working before, though not real accurate, but at least I knew when it was getting low... I had about a quarter tank before this.. Everything went back together fine.. Scratching my head here.. Some have said it's probably a bad ground now somehow? If I were to run a better ground, where would I attach to on this circuit board? Or should I go to one of the terminals on the gauge? If so, which one?
