Default Re: 1960 305 v6 carb

First rebuild there was clearly a worn seal on the bottom that was letting air in there. It had a terrible lag and usually backfired when the accellerator was pushed. after the first rebuild it was leaking fuel. So I bought the rebuild kit cleaned it better than the shop did. It started and Idled good and ran much better but still had the learching lag ,hesitation when shifting. revving the engine at the time of engauging the clutch helped alot. Also having the choke partially engaged got rid of most of it but the motor was of course ideling high.

Yes it was running good except for the lag hesitation that has never gone away just kinda acceptable to really anoying. It started having the other problems end of August Lots of pumping the accellerator cranking pumping it would start but when the accellerator was depressed it would want to stall unless really warmed up. It would idle good cold. But it never liked a light touch on the accelerator.

Plugs wires coil points condenser a couple of years ago

it has the 305 A

Ha!! yea possibly I have the Chineese Stromberd version and that could explain it all.

Is the 1 bbl Stromberg not the correct carb fot this motor?

Thanks for your help
