Default Fuel Tank Level Sending Unit

Can't find a quality fuel tank level sending unit. Only ones I can find are of poor quality and don't last.

I ordered a new sending unit from classicparts.com a couple of years ago and its been working fine ever since.

Granted, I drive mostly on propane, but I always keep some gas in the tank for emergency etc.

Can you confirm that the sending unit goes out or is there a fault in the wiring/fuel gauge/ground?

The sending unit is faulty. The rivet that connects to the resistance strip is made of brass which corroded (bimetal) and wasn't properly seated. This is the second or third one in a row that failed.

No option to just make a new rivet from a different material?
