Default 65 Column Rebuild

My column-shifted 65 c1000 needs the steering column rebuilt. It shifts very hard and is sloppy. The turn signal cam is broken the whole signal assembly moves when I shift. I am going to replace the bearings, both the shifter grommets, the cam, and install a smaller steering wheel. While I am pretty good at working through mechanical problems, I have never rebuilt a column before. Any good advice before I dig into it?

I never rebuilt a steering column but here's a link to someone fixing the turn signal

This guy had to replace his column because the locking tabs were broke:

Here's an archive post with links to diagrams

Take lots of pictures and good luck

Some people are like slinkys. Not worth much but funny as heck when pushed down stairs.
