This transfer case is in a 1960 GMC 6000 with a NAPCO power pak 4WD conversion. There are no tags. I dont think it matches a Rockwell, but looks much like one.
Any assistance is much appreciated! |

The front at least. The back is pretty much the brake and mounting brackets. I was under there for a while yesterday trying to get some good angles of the shifters and didnt have much luck. See 3 photos of the front.

Why do you say it is a NAPCO PowR-Pac? Meaning, do you see a tag or cast logo? Dana/Spicer/Napco kept making parts for bigger trucks after GM took over 4X4 as factory built in 1960.

Azken, The truck has the NAPCO Power pak emblems and I assumed this was converted with their products when the truck was ordered. Am I over simplifying?

No not at all, I just wondered what markings you saw. That is a really neat bobtail dump. I would say pretty darn rare too!!! that may be dated Oct 24 1952.

I looked all over and didn't find one like it. I did find a dash plate on Ebay
![]() https://www.ebay.com/itm/272667296654?rmvSB=true Looks like Napco made their own boxes though so it might just be "Napco Brand" since its from the 50s. I might not be much help, but I sure would like to crawl up in that and drive it. Such a cool looking truck! What are you doing with it?

Fetchmeapepsi, Thanks for looking! Not sure what I will do with it. I was hesitant to take it when the neighbor offered in January. Today, i get more and more curious about the whole thing. It is incredibly complete and original and I believe was built locally when ordered. It has a stuck 401, Clark 5 speed. Just the fact the spring packs were modified to compensate for the wing plow and there are 5 extras on the passenger side amazes me. My plan now is to take my time. Cylinders are full of mystery oil, carb is clean as a whistle. I have been collecting parts, cleaning others. The T-case will have to come out as the rear output bearing is junk. I suspect is weighs about 400lbs, HA!
The NAPCO folks suggest these big trucks were sent to local outfitters. It has the same name plate on the dump body as the interior sticker I have attached a photo of. They also said every axle was stamped and I attached a photo of this too. The axle stamp is not showing the B in front of the 6003. People stop at my house just to ask me about it. I am happy I said ok in January! |

Well, someone found the trademark symbol on the casting and it is Timken.

Found it! Rockwell T226. MAN, they get a lot of money for these. Now for some more googling!
