Newbie question: Will a standard shortbed stepside bed fit on a shortbed straight side truck?
Looking at a 63 half-ton 6.5'? shortbed, fleetside to buy: Will a short bed stepside bed fit on the same (I think 115"?) short frame? Are there different length step side beds
My grandfather had a 63 stepside and I wanted to duplicate it. I love that truck! Thanks for your help, It's my first post and I'm going to look at the truck tomorrow.... Gary Last edited by garyben; July 19th, 2013 at 09:33 PM.

Welcome to the forum gary! Yes theres three different stepside beds. A shortbed and two longbeds. One is 8 ft and one is 9ft. Mine is an 8 ft bed.
AFAIK all SWB are swappable. Same with LWB except for the 9ft bed.  and be sure to post some pik-churs!

Unless the cab is in super shape, I would buy a truck in the style you are looking for in the first place...swaps are doable, but waiting for what you really want usually is best.
