I do not know much about VR's. Problem: I have a 1960GMC 1/2 ton, had a 305A in it. Now putting 305E. When trying to order VR I think I see 1960 VR is listed as a 30-35 amp and 1963 is up around 62 amp. Both seem to have correct 4 pin connector. Can't I just convert to internally regulated alternator and be done with it all?
