			Question for the gurus:

What is the best way to support the block? We will have the truck blocked up about 3 feet. In order to remove the bellhousing, I need to support the rear of the block until we cab bolt up the 700R. I'll also need to remove the read cross member. Thanks Jake |

Support the rear portion of pan. The deep sump part. Use a thick board big enough to cover the whole pan sump area, This will spread the load. Then add other blocking as needed to put on jack or ? That will hold the rear of motor and be out of the way.

Of course a cherry picker from the top will work also. Chained to some rear bolts, like rear exhaust or intake manifold bolts. May need hood off for that. Last edited by AZKen; December 31st, 2019 at 09:07 PM. |

Thanks AZKen. We'll have to block it up. I was able to press out the U-joint for the yoke on the driveshaft ( friend has a press) I went to a website called Driveshaft Specialist and they have the correct yoke I need to use with the rear of the 700R4 27 spline shaft. The Hydramatic used a 16 spline. I'll order the new spline and joint Friday.

Their website has a sweet measuring scale you can print out and use to select your U-Joint. I most probably need. 1310 joont. I'll post the measuring link tomorrow |
