Hi. I new here. Post a lot on Yesterday's Tractor.I have a question/problem/project. I have a Farmall M tractor with a bad engine. I want to repower it with a 1961 305 V6. I will need to use the tractor flywheel. I need some advise on this. Also, the tractor flywheel is HEAVY! I wonder if the crankshaft will support the heave flywheel. The transmission and engine on this model are 'married',but I think I have that figured out.I see where there are lots of other 'convertions' out there(V8s;Diesels,detroits......),so why not a GMC V6? Thanks for your time.

Should not be a problem, they put these engines in fork lifts, there is a picture on 6066 gmc site, of one in a tractor, I was talking to someone the other day that was going to but a v12 in a tractor. God luck. Bob
