I know I am not the first 6066 GMC pickup owner to replace the wood bed, but I came across a problem I had not heard about. There are 5 rail bolts in the center of the third (from the front) support channel that are blocked by a cross member on the frame. I have run out of ideas on how to reach these to install nuts and washers. My pickup is a 1964 GMC 3/4 ton fleet-side with a long bed. I am hoping someone out there can tell me how to solve this problem so that I can complete the bed installation.
