I just bought a 1964 GMC Long bed with a inline 6 it needs some work on the motor. So how hard would it be to put in a 383 with a TH350 tranny? Also would it be worth it or not? Any comments are welcomed.Mark |

Actually a 383 and 350 trans installs pretty easily. You'll need some V-8 engine stands from the crossmember to the frame and a new transmission mount relocated for the trans length. Finally you'll probably need to have the driveshaft length changed. One thing to consider would be to find a GMC big block V-6 either 305 or 351 with the same trans and its adapter. Think that would be a real good combo. Just food for thought. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

351 V6 with the 4 barrel mod and dual 3 inch exhaust would be the bees neeze! Careful cause putting a chevy motor in a GMC is a sin round here.
