Progress is slow but sure... stripping it down to the bare metal to address the rust that was peaking through here and there!

The passenger door has always been a problem... I knew it had been reworked at some point. I knew it had bondo on it as magnets wouldn't stick at all... I just didn't know HOW DEEP the bondo was!

Looks to be 3/8" in the center of the door!

Finally got the grill removed! It took a bit because the grill support had been so patched together they literally welded the grill bolts in place!

I cut, ground, and drilled the grill bolts and got the grill out of the way.

Man that grill support is TOAST! I can't leave it that way. Off to LMC to order a new one!

Needed some inspiration to keep moving, so I took the hood off to get SOMETHING completed. It has 2 coats of epoxy primer, then some bodywork, then several coats of high build urethane primer, then sanded smooth... a final thinned coat of epoxy primer as a seal coat (since I burned through in some of the sanding)... and 3 coats of Kirker Ultra-Glo Urethane single-stage color... Mack Red. Pretty happy with it! It has some dust nibs (I am painting in my garage) and may get a cut and buff when the whole truck is done... but at least I see it moving along!

A quote from your first post - and now where are we? Keep doing work that looks like that and you'll surely have a show truck! She'd look awful nice with a few awards in the background!

Great work!

Some people are like slinkys. Not worth much but funny as heck when pushed down stairs.

Thank you! She will still have some flaws. If I REALLY wanted to put in the money/effort she would have gotten a new radiator support, a new radiator, a new driver's rocker panel and a new passenger door... not to mention a new bed. I don't mind her showing her 60 years with some dents and misalignments... just want her in a single color so my wife want to ride in her... and then tell me I need to spend the money on an A/C unit!
