Hey hello again,Does any body know the correct way to adjust the valves on a 305D V6 its a 1961. Intake 1200 exhaust 1800 while its running or not running but hot???? Not sure of the correct procedure???? any help will do.

Greetings Fartman22!

I personally always adjust valve clearances with the engine not running. In fact, most owners manuals suggest making the adjustment with the engine not running, since it is extremely difficult to get an accurate adjusment when moving parts are involved. Side note-some adjusments are made with the engine cold, and other manufacturers require that the valves be adjusted after the engine has reached operating temperature.

Hey fartman, check this instructional video out. it will help you adjust your lifters. i did it just like the guy says and my engine runs 3 time smoother. keep those babys a clickin'.

Thanks guys I did see that video but that guy is a little bit too in love with his motors. He's WEIRD but he seems right.Give it a try this week end. Thanks again.

Adjust hot, they are solid lifters not hydraulic
