Correct color for hood lights
What are the correct color bulbs for the hood light? I can't remember if they are clear/white or amber?

Re: Correct color for hood lights
60 would be clear. Amber didn't come along until 63.

Clear lps were standard until late '63. In the middle of the '63 model year, Federal DOT mandated that the front turn/park lps on all street legal vehicles would be amber. If your GMC was built late in '63 or any time thereafter it should have amber lenses. To comply with DOT regs with the least amount of modifications, trucks with the clear lenses could be outfitted with amber bulbs. |
