Default Headlight issue

When my headlights are on bright all 4 work. On dim, the drivers side has gone out. Is this most likely a bulb or a wiring problem? Thanks

I just worked on my headlights with similar issues. Had combination of one burned out bulb, and had to lightly sand terminals to fix other low beam. I would flip your working bulb to check one, and then move to some necessary cleaning of terminals.

Greetings Rusty66!

My experience has been that more likely than not, the low beam filament in that bulb is burned out. The outside bulbs have both low and high beam filaments, inside bulbs are high beam only. It certainly would not hurt to clean up the electrical connections, but I doubt that is your problem.

When you get it all ironed out, here is some cheap insurance. Clean and use Dielectric grease on all electrical connections in your light circuit. It will save you from issues later. And also, if you do not already have one, a relay harness for your headlights takes the load of your switch, making it last a lot longer. And you can run brighter Halogen bulbs with no adverse reaction, like fire. I added one and the regular bulbs were noticeably brighter. I still went with the Halogen upgrade, and I can now see really well at night. In these old trucks, that is like magic. GM
