Default GMC 1962 - Cluster damage

Hello,

I tried to figure out why my temp gauge does not move at all (I even grounded the wire) and I've got two questions.

Question 1
On the electrical diagram, looks like there is a light and dark green wires going to the sender. On my truck, it seems the light green was cut at firewall and I've got only the dark green going to the sender.

For what the ligh green is usder for?

Question 2
At the back of the cluster, I've got the feeling the board as a damaged on the second picture, please see below. Is there a way to wire directly the gauge without going thru this motherboard?

Can I run a direct wire from the sender to the gauge itself?
If yes, what do I need on the water temp gauge? +12V and the sensor or a ground and sensor?

According to my 1962 manual the light green wire goes to the headlight high beam indicator. Also the pink wire is 12 volt for the fuel/temp gauge and idiot lights. If the other items still work you could wire the temp sending unit Dark Green wire directly to the back of the temp gauge, which should be the stud closes to the speedometer.

The circuit board or flex print is just an interconnect device. No electronics involved. Saved assembly time, errors and wire. You can hook anything up with wires if you find a way. No problem.
Temp sender for gauge should be grounded by it's threads.

I've a temperature gauge and I solved the issue.

I dismounted all gauges, using a sandpaper; I cleaned all connections including those from the gauges and voila, it is now working.
