rebuilding 62 GMC
hi all. I've not been to the site for a while, but we're finally going to investing our old truck. We've had this 62 GMC stepside for about 15 years, but it's been in the family for 55 years. We are going to rebuild the engine, get the body work done, including inside. pretty much everything we need to do.
But we need engine parts; I'm no mechanic, so I"m having the work done. My mechanic says he can't find pistons, rings and main bearings for the V6 engine. In quickly scanning some of the threads, this seems a common problem. Can anyone help guide me to where I might find these parts? thanks so much Russ |

Re: rebuilding 62 GMC
Pistons are not available, if the ones in the truck are OK just get new rings.
Funny these rings just popped up on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Muskegon-Pis...NY-lR0&vxp=mtr And here is a set of mains: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MS2521P-1067...tY5pJG&vxp=mtr Keep in mind these are all Standard sets.
