Default Speaker hole patch

What a PITA. People, don't screw up your GMC with speaker holes. You can't get any kind of super sound in a truck cab. Maybe the Bluetooth generation will stop cutting holes.

Yuck? But for what its worth, you did a good job creating a patch though.

Fabulous patch. I wasn't even thinking patch, rather create an upholstered door panel -- just as much work either way. Your's returns the stock appearance.

Not perfect, but done. Did I say I hate body work? Total respect for bodymen/painters. Something I found out about humidity and heat. I painted the door panel in 100 deg and 13%. The paint came out of the rattle can is spec globs. Need 40-50% !!!!!!!!! We ain't got that. Gotta wait til July/Aug to get 30% and up. Sanded and painted in evening again, still had problems. Paint dries in mid air with can held 6" away. AMAZING!! Hate it!!! Hate body work!! Good news is when I sand to bare metal, I don't have to cover it with anything. It won't rust for 10 years sitting there. Getting dizzy now, gotta go lay down.

That would be the downside of rattle can refinishing. It looks real good from here, anyway. You might be able to get the finish to smooth out a little if you spray enamel reducer over the painted area. Be careful, though, as any metal flake will be happy to lay down funny if it gets too wet. Practice on a piece of scrap, rather than the door itself.

Thanks WD. As for now, I plan on waiting till cooler temps and more humidity. Good tip if that does not work. Got a lot of interior walnut blasting to do anyway.
Thanks again.
