Replacement parts
Just a question. I had bought my 63 GMC 3/4 ton about a year ago. I had a couple of posts initially, but now I'm retired and can start paying attention/fixing it up. It's funny how quick you can get attached to these trucks! I figured that I better start with the mechanics, stopping leaks, etc. After finding the 6066 GMC Guy and reading about the 305V6........I'm keeping it, plaid valve covers and all. When I am searching for replacement body parts, there is a few major players: Classic Industries, LMC, Brothers, etc. In terms of quality, who would you recommend when it comes to front fenders? Maybe better to look at junk yards? It is much appreciated.

Re: Replacement parts
Seems there is no perfect substitute for original front fenders. Good used ones are next to impossible to find. You should have a better chance finding some decent and less rusty ones there in the dry Arizona desert!

Re: Replacement parts
I agree. Arizona is the best place for Sheet Metal.
Wish it wasn't about 2500 Miles from me, lol.

Re: Replacement parts
I appreciate the advice. Learning a little at a time. I will try to find some out here before buying other parts from a commercial company. Thanks, Dan

Re: Replacement parts
BillT - That is quite an assortment of GMC's. My Dad used to have the 1950's GM's, but by the time I arrived he had a 64 Ford F250. I was originally looking for one of the 64s, but stumbled upon the 63 GMC. I figured this was my turn to have a different truck. Did I hit the jackpot! Well, I am very appreciative to have it. It is going to be a journey, but I never see myself getting rid of it.

Re: Replacement parts
I bought my replacement fenders and patch panels from LMC. I didn't do the work myself, but the shop that did the work said the panels were good.
