Default 305 v6 Differences

I’ve got this 66 3/4 ton pickup I bought awhile back and it’s 99% rust free but is beat up in spots from farm life. Very original pickup but at some point down the line they had an issue with the motor and took the hood off and pulled the front cover off the motor and quit. So it sat open without a hood for several years. Now since I’ve gotten it I bought a 50,000 mile 64 305C from a grain truck but noticed the front timing covers are different. My question is, can I pull the intake and timing cover from the 305E that is in the 66 and put it on the 305C From the grain truck so everything is the same configuration as it was originally? Thank you in advance for the help

The things you will have to change is the front cover and the water crossover manifold (containing the thermostat, water outlet, and water manifold), the motor mount brackets(l & r). I would leave the "c" oil pan on the engine you bought, as well as the oil filter asm(if it's a 2 qt.). I hope this is of some assistance.

Cordially,

Greetings dt!

I would follow Mr. Matkins advice. I will add that it's a doggone shame that the former owner(s) pulled the front cover off from the engine and then gave up on it. Those who have no mechanical inclination or aptitude should leave their cotton picking fingers off from things that they have no knowledge about and do not understand!!
