Default Do 16.5 inch tires exist today ?

Would like to upgrade to disc brakes. This is no problem staying with the 8 bolt pattern. Have original wheels and hub caps, want to keep original. I’m shopping for tires , let alone big white wall tires 9.5 x 16.5 Seems to be quite rare if found at all. Do I cave and upgrade to 16 or 17”. ? Thanks for advise as I’m a little bummed right now

About ten years ago, I got a pair of 17.5's for the front of my
'60 3/4.
They have worked well even though the shop did not prepare the rims and I have had slow leaks ever since.
More recently I discovered that no 17.5s seem to be available.
Good luck.

you can get new bias ply tires from coker tire, in 16.5 and 17.5 sizes. but grab your ankles and brace yourself for price.

Try Coker Tire. They are bias tires and I did not see the ply. My used ones here are 6 or 8 ply bias. https://www.cokertire.com/tires/8-17-5-highway.html.
Use your wife's purse, they are $210 each.

this company lists the size you are looking for. Looks like Coker tire is the distributor, in 8.75-16.5 they run about 200.00 per tire, made in USA.

I remember when 16.5's were first out. I was running 16's at the time and a friend of mine indicated that they were outdated wheels and everyone will soon be going to 16.5's.

Of course I could never understand the big deal of a 1/2 Inch more.

And now look today.
