28 grease fittings, 7 lube check points on axles, T case, transmisson and steering gear. 3 on distributor, oil cup, breaker cam, points pivot. 2 cups on generator.
If maintained according to schedule, thats 4000 lube operations at 100,000 miles on top of all the longer interval operations such as oil and filter changes, front wheel bearings and axle, rear axle lube, trans and transfer case changes, and oil bath air cleaner. Probably those might add another 100-200 lube operations by 100K miles. Not including daily checks of oil level. Last edited by Ledslinger; August 25th, 2023 at 12:27 AM. |

"7 lube check points on axles."
I may be 53 years behind on those. |

Only 4 on the axles themselves, 3 front and 1 back. The other three are transfer case, transmission and steering gear.

Yes 4WD. Thats just the lube check points on the axle other than the zerks on the tie rod, drag link, and spring pivots and shackles.
